“A rating in the THE rankings gives us important information about where we stand compared to other universities and improves the international status of MENDELU. This is why we applied to become part of the rankings, which we are planning to continue in the years to come,” says Danuše Nerudová, the rector of Mendel University in Brno. As she says, rankings such as these give the university important feedback about its weaknesses and areas that can be improved in the following years.
The global THE rankings are based on five key indicators: teaching and learning environment, research, citations, industry income and international outlook. From these five areas, MENDELU received the best score for international outlook.
In this year’s THE World University Rankings 2020, the judges evaluated universities from 92 countries in the world. Together with the QS World University Rankings and the Shanghai Ranking, the THE rankings are the most prestigious university rankings in the world. As Nerudová adds: “Our ambition for the years to come is to move higher and rank among top 1,000 best-rated universities in the world.”
